Beyond the line: post-race festivities

The scene after the race may just be better than the race itself. Immerse your weary body in massage, music, and good food and drink while enjoying late summer in Waterfront Park.

Beer tent
Reward a fine effort with a frosty brew in the beer tent from Deschutes Brewery. A variety of your favorite ales will be on tap, including Mirror Pond, Black Butte, and seasonal specialties. In addition, Deschutes Brewery's very first organic beer, Green Lakes Organic Ale, will be served. This Oregon Tilth and Salmon-Safe certified classic amber debuted December of 2007.

Massage
Your dogs are beat. It's only noon and you've been swimming, biking, and running like a crazy person all morning. Time to lie in the shade and let a pair of skilled, soothing hands knead your weary muscles. A team of massage therapists will welcome you to paradise. Get your beer first, 'cause you might not get back up.

Organic fruit
The sweetest fruits in the country can be found in Oregon. From berries to grapes to melons and cherries, summer is a fine time to enjoy the countryside's riches. This year the Portland Triathlon will host a "fruit tent" featuring the very finest organic, local, in-season watermelon, plums, pears, berries, and much more from local CSA (Community-Supported Agriculture) farms. Enjoy!
